Strengths-based Family Engagement in Libraries Workshop Series

Making connections with families is an important part of the work that library staff do. Whether through a brief interaction or a relationship built over time, these connections are essential for families to see libraries as a place where they are welcome. In this five-part workshop series, participants learn strategies to engage with families and solve problems together when situations feel challenging.

Specific topics for the five sessions include:

  • Perspective-taking
  • Using strengths-based attitudes
  • Active listening
  • The power of observation
  • Valuing a family’s passion

Five live interactive webinars on the following Thursdays in March at 2–3:30 pm ET / 11am–12:30 pm PT:

7.5–clock hours total; Certificates of Attendance will be provided at the end of the series
