Bio:
Sylva joins the Brazelton Institute as a senior Program Coordinator with a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience. She manages domestic and global trainings in the Newborn Behavioral Observations (NBO) and Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS) systems. Her prior experience at Brigham and Women’s Hospital began in 2019 as a Research Coordinator assessing interventions to improve the health and well-being of preterm infants and their mothers. Prior to engaging in clinical research, she served as a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula to advocate for birthing parents and their growing families. Early career research focused on bench-level neuropharmacology, transmitter and receptor function, as well as nutritional and environmental impacts on neurochemistry and behavior.
